Established in 1979, Warburton Building Services Limited specialises in providing mechanical and electrical services to the building industry.
The Warburton head offices and stores are in west Oxford, but they undertake projects all over the country, from mass residential site work, university colleges, schools and other large commercial projects to carrying out reactive maintenance.
Background
Warburton employ over 150 people: some hybrid working at the head office; some at the stores; and some working remotely on site.
Due to the varied workforce, locations and IT systems used at Warburton, the company required a Telephone System and IT Support that were both flexible, multi-functional and guaranteed to keep everybody connected.
A long-standing customer of GHM since 2020, Warburton upgraded to a cloud hosted telephone system in 2024 and transitioned their full IT Support provision to GHM this year.
Voice
GHM provide Warburton with a hosted VoIP telephony platform that offers a powerful suite of Unified Communications tools—perfect for businesses looking to modernise and streamline their communications. The main standout benefits that Warburton use to maximise their productivity include:
Flexibility & Mobility: desk phones, softphones (software on mobile devices) and mobile apps, ideal for hybrid or remote teams. As some of the team at Warburton are mobile so they are able to use the mobile app, making and receiving calls exactly the same as they would in the office.
Unified Platform: Voice, video, instant messaging, file sharing, and conferencing are all part of the package which Warburton use.
Advanced Call Management: This covers features such as call queuing, auto-attendant, voicemail-to-email, and compliant call recording, all very important to Warburton Building Services so that they can communicate at any time of the day. For example, the out of hours Auto-Attendant for urgent enquiries goes directly to an on-call engineer or the option to leave a voicemail which will alert the team via email.
IT Support
GHM provide Warburton with a full suite of IT Managed Services including both on-site and remote IT Support for any IT related issues (printers, network issues, WiFi issues and PC & laptop issues).
As well the IT Support desk, all of Warburton’s on-premise servers are managed by GHM using our RMM (remote management tools). This provides layers of security and alerts us to any issues that need resolving, before the end user becomes aware or they have had any effect on the business.
GHM also manage the Warburton Microsoft 365 suite including Exchange Online (Emails) and Office Apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive). We apply Microsoft MFA (Multifactor Authentication) to protect email accounts and office apps and fully utilise some of the built-in security features that Microsoft provide such as Exchange Online Protection (EOP) – the cloud-based filtering service that protects businesses against spam, malware, phishing and other email threats. In addition, we also use Microsoft Defender for Office 365 to add even more security.
This is supported by our BCDR (Backup and Disaster Recovery) solution for all of the servers and Microsoft 365 data (Emails, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint).
Finally, GHM also manage the Warburton Firewall.
