Celebrating Women Working in Tech!

At GHM we’re always keen to talk about and celebrate women in tech. International Women’s Day back in March saw our social media timelines light up with stories, whether celebrating achievements or inspiring those starting their careers.

Women in the UK are being encouraged to take up positions in the world of tech but there’s still a very long way to go. At GHM, we buck the trend though, with 35% of the entire team being women. These are strong stats in telecoms/IT and hope to see it grow even further.

It’s encouraging to see that the engineering industry has seen female apprenticeships double between 2009 and 2019, but only from 5.8% to 10.3%. However, these numbers are still low and more can be done.

We are proud to have such a mix of genders across our departments, sharing a passion for technology in the variety of roles they hold.
