We will shortly reach the first anniversary since the first lockdown, and for some of us that has meant working remotely for a long time. While the horizon looks more positive, it has never been more important to look after our mental health. Last month, our HR and Health & Safety Manager, Mary, recently qualified as a Mental Health First Aider and shared some top tips for the GHM team.

  • Take a short break away from your laptop/screen.
  • Try to get some fresh air each day – go for a walk or run etc.
  • Check-in with colleagues – you don’t always have to discuss work. Chat about their weekends/evenings/what series they are watching etc.
  • If you are worried about someone, don’t be afraid to ask. It is the small things that make the most difference.

There are hundreds of sources online to support mental health. The NHS has a list of recommended apps which support mental health:-
