BT has delayed the deadline by which businesses have to switch from physical copper-based landlines to internet-based services
Concerns over the safety of vulnerable people using personal alarms is the main reason why the deadline has been pushed back from the end of 2025, to the end of January 2027.
However, the delay presents a great opportunity for businesses to get ahead of the game, with significant savings and efficiencies to be made.
The 40-year-old analogue landline technology is increasingly fragile and so it’s really important to start the switch to digital as soon as possible. There are also some very exciting benefits and savings that can be made straight away.
