Can new technology bridge the collaboration gap as home working continues?

In a recent BBC report, the majority of workers said they would prefer to work from home either full-time or at least some of the time. It also suggested that more than 60% thought young people would struggle to progress without face-to-face contact.

However, half of the senior leaders surveyed by YouGov for the BBC said working at home would adversely affect both creativity and collaboration. This compares to just 38% of the public.

But how do businesses deal with the challenge of how to innovate remotely? Especially as the office is often the place where spontaneous interactions spark new ideas.

New technology can certainly bridge the gap. There has been a radical shift in technology from artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual collaboration, both vital for businesses to continue to innovate. GHM is working with many businesses transforming to AI and cloud technology, as they look to connect more effectively in the long term.

Neil McManus of GHM says: “We have assisted many customers throughout the pandemic and beyond looking to bridge the gap of creativity and collaboration as their workforce continues to work remotely. From installing cloud telephony and WiFi solutions to supporting them with their IT.”
