Mike Hill joined GHM in late 2022 as an Apprentice Engineer. He grew up in Abingdon, Oxfordshire and achieved A* and As in his A Levels at Larkmead School.
Faced with a difficult choice of going to University or embarking on a telecoms career, Mike opted to start his Level 3 & 4 ICT Engineer apprenticeship with GHM. He already had some work experience at GHM and felt really happy to be able to continue with the team, whilst still securing some valuable vocational qualifications and experience.
Mike says: “I absolutely loved working at GHM and wasn’t ready to leave so when the opportunity came up to start an apprenticeship there, I jumped at the chance. I absolutely love being part of the GHM team and dealing with customers on a daily basis via the support desk. The hands on experience I am gaining is really varied and as challenging as I want it to be.”
Mike has really emersed himself when it comes to being a team player. He’s fun, friendly, polite and even organised our first World Cup sweepstake.
Outside of GHM Mike is a bit of a sports fanatic. He has always loved and played football at a competitive level and helps coach the local 10 & under football squad. He goes to the gym and likes to stay healthy whilst also socialising with his friends a lot.
We are extremely lucky to have Mike working with us and wish him lots of luck and support with his apprenticeship.
