Using Telecoms for Effective Meetings

At GHM all of our hosted telephone solutions have a built-in ‘Conference Bridge’. We understand that conferencing is an important business tool, and the ability to reach out to staff not on-site is invaluable. It also avoids participants spending time travelling, which of course saves time and cost.

While voice conferencing is a good addition, we feel video conferencing is the best way to stay connected for standard meetings, training sessions or web seminars. Not only is it more personal, it offers businesses large or small the functions that voice only cannot achieve.

Our leading partner for Hosted Telephony, TelcoSwitch will shortly be launching ‘Communicator Meeting’. To give you a short overview it will feature HD Video, Screen Sharing, Group Chat, and the flexibility to arrange an Instant Meeting or set up a Recurring Meeting. There will also be the option to view and modify meetings, which ultimately saves time.

Other beneficial features include the ability to select a presenter, the presenter can then mute/unmute participants when there is a need to deliver important information. During this time, we suggest promoting the ‘Group Chat’ function so that questions can be typed during a presentation, then answered by the relevant person at a suitable point.
