In the first of our Q&A series, where we open the floor to your most asked telephony and IT support questions, we take a look at how to transfer a call directly to a colleague’s voicemail when using one of our cloud hosted telephone systems.

How to Transfer an External Caller directly to a Colleague’s Voicemail

On a Yealink desk phone

Press ‘Transfer’ and then dial *125 followed by the colleague’s Extn number.

e.g. Press Transfer, dial *125 2001

This will transfer your external caller to Extn 2001’s Voicemail.

Extn 2001 will therefore not ring prior to the external caller going to your colleague’s voicemail whereby the external caller can leave them a message.

In Your App

  1. Press Transfer – a new window will open.
  2. Search for the person’s name or Extension number.
  3. Then click the Voicemail button.
